Introduction

A game that I am making by using Unity Engine. The setting of the game is in the future where the humans have destroyed too much of the nature. The nature became angry and decided to erase human kind from the planet. The player is the nature, and the main objective of the game is to destroy all human civilization from the planet. The setting and the convept of the game was motivated from the movie Avatar.

Game Design

Game Setting

This game is a 3D RTS type. Starcraft 2 would be a nice example. The game takes in the future where the humans have destroyed too much of the planet that the nature have decided to get rid of human species. The player is like the god of nature. The game starts with one main tree. This main tree is the source of all energy, beginning of the nature, and the tree that needs to be protected from the humans. The same moment the player starts the game with one main tree, the humans begin their growth on the planet. It is assumed that the humans are from ailian planets to extract minerals and energies from the new planet they have found. And the spirit of the nature on that planet (the player) is trying to protect the nature, and force the humans out. 

Story Line

You are the god of this newly born planet. You have the power to build the environment of this planet however you want. However an ailian intelligent species have invaded your planet. They are seeking to harvest the natural resources of this planet even if it means destroying your environment. Your objective as the god and the protector of this planet, is to develope the environment, and to drive the ailians out. Go now, raise and cultivate your own nature, and fight against the alian species. The fate of this planet now lies in your hands. 

Trees
Main Tree

 

This tree is the basic fundimental tree of the game. This tree allows other basic trees to be planted. This tree also produces energy through certain periods, this energy is used to plant, and create more environmental elements and animals. Trees that can produce enegry could be planted more, but there is only one main tree that needs to be protected.

Tree T

 

I'm only at the beginning stage of the game, so I named this tree 'tree T'. This tree can be produced through the main tree. This tree will be able to produce animals according to the environment around it.

Tree P

 

This tree is another tree that is used in the testing. P stands for 'pine tree'. It was created to see if the game worked with different kinds of trees as well, and the interaction between the two.

Game statics

The player begins with one main tree already implanted. The main tree constantly produces energy of which then the player can use to grow more different kinds of trees. Certain trees allow the player to plant more environment assets such as trees, rocks, and water, while some of these environmental assets allow various animals to grow. This game, unlike most other games, fights against the intelligent spicies. Due to this concept, the game is highly dependent on the environment of the map. For example, certain nimals that are required for fights against the alian species are only produced in set environmental conditions; And some environmental settings could directly affect how the player would stratagize the game. For example, a swamp may act as a stratagic element to slow the emeies down, rocks could block certain terrain, or some magical trees could be used to stop the airforce. 

Root

There is a concept called 'root' in the game. The concept is that no trees that are the same kind can be planted too close to each other. This also works as the area of effectiveness. This prevents the player from spamming one tree to brake the system. 

Energy

Certain environemntal elements and animals require certain amount of energy to be created. This energy could be produced from the main tree, or by building more trees that produces energy.
